As for a societal law preventing abortions, I don’t think I am likely to be able to support that any time soon. The society as a whole has no interest in unwanted children being born. Given the choices women have available to them with an unwanted pregnancy, I can’t see that forcing them to bring the child to term serves them or the rest of us. On a personal level, it is the taking of life, and in my experience, is not done lightly. I doubt that anyone else’s judgement in the matter is likely to be more moral than the woman who bears the embryo within her, and would not like to see that judgement interfered with.
